Q: What is TwoMinuteWarning.com?
A: TwoMinuteWarning.com is a web site that creates innovative NFL statistics to help you WIN. We watch every NFL game each week and chart the action at the play-by-play level of detail. Using this information we then produce unique stats and ratings designed to give you the edge. Drive Chart Stats, Trends, Injury Report data, Red Zone stats and simulation engines are just some of the tools we use in assessing every NFL match-up each week.
Q: How long have you been doing this?
A: TwoMinuteWarning.com was formed by a group of individuals who set out to create new and better numbers for the NFL. We started in 1997 and at first concentrated on Drive Chart stats as our main means of predicting outcomes. In 1998 we had solidified our formulas there and posted our numbers on the web site for the first time. We also tracked the play-by-play action and worked on creating algorithms to incorporate this data into our handicapping. In 1999 we rolled out play-by-play ratings and predictions on a real-time basis. From 2000 on we have continued to push the envelope on the best cutting edge tools and research for making NFL predictions against the spread. See About Us for a rough timeline of our history.
For NFL 2007 we will again be upping the ante with a new column inspired by Michael Lewis' recent bestseller "The Blind Side" as well as a column focusing solely on quarterbacks and QB play in each matchup each week.
Q: When is the data available? How do I access the gambling data?
A: The majority of our subscriber content, including updated stats, ratings and predicted scores, are posted every week on Tuesday by 3pm Pacific Time. There are certain features that come out later in the week (for example the Injury Report column and the Full Story simulation results). In addition we have guest columnists and features that appear at different times as well as daily free content accessible from the home page.
Q: Do you make predictions or do I have to figure out who to bet myself?
A: Our statistical ratings are geared towards predicting future performance, for full-on wagering uses. Each feature and columnist makes its own picks against the spread, and records are tracked meticulously against a neutral consensus line to help you understand the predictive power of the various tools. So yes, picks are readily available.
At the same time, successful handicappers with existing strategies can incorporate our more accurate data into their own methods and improve their results. Our cutting edge research will alert you to new ideas and new ways of successfully approaching the NFL games.

Q: Should I then just rely on the picks?
A: The majority of people who come to the site are primarily here to find out "who we like" in the upcoming games.
To that end, we provide picks, both from statistical models and tools as well as individual handicappers writing their own columns each week.
Here’s the thing though: we believe people who engage in sports betting should handicap the games themselves.
So if you will, the goal of TwoMinuteWarning is really to be a kind of sophisticated ‘Daily Racing Form’ for the sports bettor – full of features geared towards wagering-oriented analysis, as well as articles to help you win.
Now clearly there are exceptions to our stance. People who:
- wager large sums
- have limited time
- love the pure "action"
- have tried themselves without success
...all can reasonably deem a small investment in some help making picks a wise move. However by doing your own handicapping, we believe you will ultimately derive greater satisfaction, enjoyment, and yes success than by just blindly following our picks. Now, that doesn't mean you shouldn't avail yourself of the best NFL handicapping resources in the world (hint hint).

Q: What are your results from previous seasons?
A: We have so many different features and columnists that regrettably there is no easy answer to this question. We do show on the subscription information page the long term performance records of the mainstay features, but there are other tools and columnists and indeed features that have been discontinued that are not listed. In season each feature displays a season to date record, often with detailed splits (different overlay ranges, favorites/dogs, home/away, different spread ranges, etc) and we always track records against a neutral, consensus line. Ultimately though this gets back to the prior question which is that the record of a tool isn't as important as your record using the features and columns to come to your own conclusions.
Q: When do you begin coverage?
A: We cover the NFL year-round! Through the off-season maneuverings, the draft, training camps and pre-season games, and then from week one of the regular season all the way through the Super Bowl. We also have predicitions covering Season Win Totals, early week one lines, and other topics. While we emphasize the need to be cautious with the numbers and predictions in the early part of the season, we have data each week, as well as articles and commentary discussing the upcoming games.
Q: Do you cover college football?
A: We are dedicated to the NFL and by focusing our attentions on pro football believe we can mount the best coverage of the sport anywhere. Our approach relies on watching every game each week, which is why college football is daunting to add on -- NCAA football hass more than 3x the work of covering the NFL (50+ college games a week vs. 15 for the pro’s). Still, we have been working on some experimental college stats that look promising, and we might offer some limited coverage in the second half of the season.
Q: Can I download the data? Can I print it out?
A: All of our features are available online at the web site, and can be printed directly from your web browser. You might attempt to copy and paste the data into spreadsheets, etc. but if you are looking to do your own computations with our numbers we can for an additional fee provide you with comma delimited data files.
